Cassidy](https://jasonwdcassidy.com/blog/author/jason-w-d-cassidy) Jul 29, 2024   Jason and Davy discuss the challenges and drawbacks of centralised systems, particularly in the context of recent events like the CloudStrike incident. They highlight the risks of relying on cloud services and the lack of reliability and innovation in the current IT landscape. They also touch on the importance of business continuity and disaster recovery planning, emphasising the need for organisations to have alternative methods and processes in place to continue operations during disruptions. They then have a discussion on the lack of true innovation and the tendency to prioritise convenience and short-term gains over long-term stability.       **Tags:** [EI,](https://jasonwdcassidy.com/blog/tag/ei) [Podcast](https://jasonwdcassidy.com/blog/tag/podcast) ![Jason W.
